EA Sports has predicted Spain to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup after running a full tournament simulation across all 104 matches. The gaming company has correctly forecast the winner of every World Cup since 2010, adding extra attention to its latest prediction.
Spain head into the tournament as one of the leading contenders after winning Euro 2024 under Luis de la Fuente. The simulation expects Spain to lift the trophy for the first time since 2010.
EA Sports successfully predicted Spain’s triumph in 2010, followed by Germany in 2014, France in 2018 and Argentina in 2022. That record has turned the company’s World Cup forecasts into a talking point before each tournament.
The simulation highlights Lamine Yamal as a key figure in Spain’s campaign. The Barcelona winger enjoyed a breakthrough period with the national team and remains one of Spain’s most dangerous attacking players.
Spain will begin their World Cup campaign in Group H against Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay. With 32 of the 48 teams progressing to the knockout stage, Spain will expect to advance comfortably if they perform to their usual standards.
The Spanish side drew 1-1 with Iraq in a warm-up match and will face Peru before the tournament starts.
